Are you going to make me throw everything away?

No!  I know your things are important to you and I believe houses are for living in. I will ask you to consider whether the things you’re currently surrounded by support the way you want to live your life. If you do decide to let things some things go, I work with you to make sure they go to a good home. I maintain a broad database of good homes and I’m an enthusiastic supporter of donating and recycling wherever possible.

I take donations to ARC Thrift store because I believe that they’re doing good in our community. Not only do they sell the donations to raise money to support people with developmental disabilities, they employ people who would otherwise have a tough time getting a job.

I also support Heritage House, a Boulder county non-profit providing a safe haven for at-risk teenage girls. Donations of unused or barely used toiletries (gifts, impulse buys etc.) make a practical difference in these girls’ lives.

Here in Boulder county, we’re lucky to have many recycling options open to us. Check out the A-Z recycling guide at the top of the page in the following link:

As part of your organizing package, I take a trunkful of donation to the thrift store after each organizing session. As much as you can fit in there! I know what a difference it makes to get things out of there immediately. I email you a photograph of the donations in my trunk and the thrift store donation receipt after each session for your tax records.

Do you feel like you missed the day they taught Organizing 101?
